Trump won Ohio in 2016 by eight percentage points, but a recent poll shows the race is much closer now.
Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine's stock has skyrocketed in that time, going from 44% in July 2019 to 75% now.
DeWineDeWine's approval crosses party lines and actually is higher among Democrats than his own Republican Party, Quinnipiac reports. His approval among Republicans is 76%. Among Democrats, it's 81%. Independents like DeWine at a 74% clip.
