The government has unveiled its new definition of extremism to a mixed reception, with Michael Gove naming some of groups that will be re-assessed under the new definition.
Sir Keir Starmer has accused the prime minister of 'failing' in his handling of a Tory donor race row. Frank Hester is reported to have said MP Diane Abbott made him 'want to hate all black women' and that she 'should be shot'.Mr Sunak has said the alleged comments were 'wrong and racist', but has not pledged to return the funding. 'This is a test for the prime minister and at the moment he is failing that test,' Sir Keir said.
'They are racist, they are misogynistic and the prime minister should do the right thing which is to return the £10m that he has taken from this individual donor.'Asked whether the Labour whip will be returned to Ms Abbott, Sir Keir said that was a 'separate' issue. He said an independent Labour Party investigation into Ms Abbott is ongoing, which he is independent from. 'That will have to be resolved,' he said.
