A serving police officer was arrested after an incident during an awards ceremony at the Radisson Blu in Glasgow and charged with alleged sex offences.
Jones was nominated for an act of bravery at the Scottish First Aid Awards on Friday, March 31, alongside three fellow officers, who all rushed to help a man with a severed artery, writes the Record.Officers were responding to reports of a gas leak in a residential area of Edinburgh city when they were suddenly met with a knife-wielding man.
Police calmly de-escalated the situation as they attempted to negotiate with him to allow them to administer first aid, while calling for backup. Following emergency surgery, the injured man recovered and was provided with further mental health support.
