Police in Glasgow are carrying out a wide range of operations to tackle violence against all women and girls
A senior police officer has revealed an operation to stop east end prostitutes being attacked by men as part of wider work to tackle violence against women and girls.
The police teams have also been trying to help other vulnerable females including Hungarian and Romanian women at risk of sexual exploitation. She said it "has been working well" and organisation Routes Out, which helps support women in the sex industry, has been involved. Det Sup Kilbane said: "It was our response to violence, stalking, sexual acts, and inappropriate behaviour towards lone females in our communities."
