A Pennsylvania teenager accused of stabbing a classmate during a fight in a high school bathroom turned himself in on Tuesday night, police said.
The 16-year-old suspect, who was identified in a handout by the Caln Police Department, is being charged with attempted murder and related offenses. He is being held at the Chester County Juvenile Detention Center after failing to post $75k bail.
School officials said the fight erupted at Coatesville Senior High School around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. Substitute Superintendent Rick Dunlap said the 16-year-old stabbed a classmate several times. The stabbed student was taken to Paoli Hospital and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to officials.Students said the fight happened in the bathroom, and it was recorded by at least one other student. The school was placed on lockdown and the students were allowed to leave early while authorities investigated.
