The suspect, wanted on warrants for several other crimes, suffered a broken leg in the incident.
A 44-year-old man with a lengthy criminal past and wanted on multiple charges led police on a high-speed chase and, when he jumped out and tried to flee, was tased and then run over by the very vehicle he had stolen, Semmes police said.
It was there the suspect, identified as Bryan Joshua Lee Tettleton, jumped out of the vehicle -- with the car still moving -- and tried to scale a fence, but fell. Tettleton was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Once released, he will be charged with receiving stolen property, attempting to elude, reckless endangerment, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.
Tettleton’s criminal history dates back to 1999, according to jail and court records, with charges including drug trafficking, burglary, assault, theft, robbery, multiple counts of probation revocation, and manufacturing/trafficking methamphetamine.
