A police officer with West Yorkshire Police is facing allegations that he made homophobic comments towards a colleague.
Details of the allegations have been released by West Yorkshire Police ahead of the hearing. If the allegations are found proven, they would amount to gross misconduct, according to the Force. "It is alleged that, on a number of occasions in 2021–2022 whilst on duty in West Yorkshire, PS McDonald made comments towards a police officer colleague that were homophobic and grossly offensive," the Force said. The misconduct hearing is due to take place at Force headquarters in Wakefield on January 2, 2024.
