Police have said 'heartbroken and devastated families' are likely to be 'at the core' of its ongoing investigation.
Police have raided three funeral homes across Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire following a report over 'concern for care of the deceased'. There are currently police cordons in place and officers in attendance at the three locations being investigated, Humberside Police have said. The report was received on Wednesday evening in relation to Legacy Independent Funeral Directors.
'We have already been in contact with a number of people as part of our investigation and are working closely with His Majesty's Coroner, Hull City Council and East Riding Council to establish the facts.' Asking people to 'refrain from speculation' about what may have happened, DCS Gawthorpe said: 'At the core of this investigation will potentially be heartbroken and devastated families and loved ones.
