A 36-year-old Kettering man has been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and driving offences
A man from Kettering has been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle following a police intervention on the A14. Reports came in just after 6am this morning of a multi-vehicle crash, according to travel provider Inrix.
The westbound carriageway was closed between junction 2 and junction 1 due to the incident. Lane two of two then remained closed while recovery work was taken but all lanes have since reopened. Northamptonshire police have now confirmed a 36-year-old man from Kettering has been arrested after officers carried out “tactical containment” of an alleged stolen vehicle. In a statement to NorthantsLive, they said: “Our officers subsequently carried out a tactical containment of a vehicle on the A14 westbound just past J2 shortly before 6.15am today .
"A 36-year-old Kettering man was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and driving offences. He remains in custody at present as enquiries continue.”
