ASP Ahmad was one of three officers to receive the award.
“It just appeared to me that something wasn’t right. It was from the void deck, so it couldn’t have been fumigation,” he said.he found the dialysis centre filled with thick smoke. Together with staff of the dialysis centre, the officer evacuated the patients to a nearby open-air badminton court behind the HDB block while his colleague used a water hose to fight the fire.
Officers from the Singapore Civil Defence Force arrived a few minutes later. As a result of his actions, the police said no one was injured in the incident.ASP Ahmad hopes he can inspire younger police officers.
