Lewis Edwards groomed 210 girls aged between 10 and 16
A former police officer who tricked over 200 young girls into sending him inappropriate pictures and videos has been sentenced to life in prison. Lewis Edwards, 24, manipulated 210 girls aged between 10 and 16, forcing them to send him indecent images over Snapchat which he secretly recorded.
The court was told that all but one of the victims were abused while Edwards was a serving police officer. He even targeted one teenager just 17 days after meeting her as part of his duties. Investigators discovered that Edwards was in contact with his victims during working hours on 30 occasions. The court saw some videos that Edwards had recorded of his victims. In one video, a teenage girl can be seen crying and wiping her eyes.
One girl said: "You are supposed to trust the police and he did this to me. I really hate him for what he has done."
