Police have issued an important warning to parents who use holiday clubs. Officers have urged parents to carry out 5 thorough checks before sending their children to out-of-school clubs during the school holidays.
‘Would you be happy leaving your keys with someone you’ve just met?’ Publishing the warning on Facebook, Surrey Police wrote: ‘Kids clubs. They’re fab, aren’t they? You might have booked your kids into one or two this school holiday – it gives you time to grab a brew or nip to a shop. These include making sure a childcare facility has a clear safeguarding policy and simple process for any parents who do want to make a complaint or voice any concerns.While the police force did not elaborate on why exactly they’d shared their post now, but many parents thanked them for doing so.While a second wrote: ‘Good points. Some holiday clubs are for 2 to 3 hours, and don’t show the accreditations and points to look at, so all seem legit.
