An emotional vigil was held at St Martin's Church in Hull , East Yorkshire, directly opposite the boarded up Anlaby Road branch of Legacy Family Funerals, which is under police investigation.

His comments came after candles were lit and prayers were said on Saturday afternoon for the families of people whose bodies were recovered from the scandal-hit funeral parlour. On Saturday, many of the families were united in grief as St Martin's opened its doors for them to pray for loved ones and light candles in their memory.
Karen's mum Betty, 86, was cremated in 2019 and her dad Alan Griffin, 82, in 2016 and both funerals were handled by Legacy. One man was so visibly shaken he had to be helped by local clergy, who guided him towards the altar where multiple candles were already burning. 'I feel like no one wants to voice this. I have just spoken to a guy who was one of the 35 and you could see from his face he had just gone.
