Police are urging the public to avoid a stretch of road in Rutherglen following a crash on Sunday afternoon. Emergency services raced to McCallum Avenue around 2pm.
Police have closed a busy road in Rutherglen following a crash reportedly involving a motorbike and a car.
McCallum Avenue is currently closed between Main Street and Reid Street. Main Street is also closed between Caledonia Avenue and Hardie Avenue. The crash unfolded around 2pm on Sunday afternoon with the public being asked to avoid the area. Footage from the scene shows a sizable police cordon around the crash site.
A motorbike can be seen on the road close to a stationary car. Main Street is also closed between Caledonia Avenue and Hardie Avenue. This is due to a crash that happened around 2pm on Sunday, 15 October.South Lanarkshire Council has also urged the public to avoid the area. They said: "The B768 Main Street, Rutherglen has been closed by Police Scotland due to an accident at the junction of A749 Stonelaw Road/Farmeloan Road.".
