Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry said multiple shots were fired at deputies, but deputies did not return fire.

The incident began about 7:30 p.m. in Bremen, said Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry. He said deputies tried to stop a vehicle and the driver refused to stop. The sheriff said multiple shots were fired at Cullman County deputies. Once the pursuit crossed over into Jefferson County, numerous other law enforcement agencies joined in the chase.
The chase ended when the suspects crashed near the Shell service station at Morris Majestic Road and U.S 31.Gentry said the investigation is in its early stages but said he is not aware of any shots fired by law enforcement officers.The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency will take over as the lead agency.If you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
