Developers are looking to create purpose-built student accommodation for around 500 residents complete with a rooftop garden on the busy shopping street.
Plans to demolish the former Marks and Spencer store on Sauchiehall Street to create student accommodation have been brought forward.
We previously reported how a leading heritage watchdog backed calls to save part of the historic Sauchiehall Street building that was designed by Robert Lutyens. Paul Sweeney MSP has been leading calls to save the front of the building and has described its loss as a 'travesty' for the cultural fabric of the city.
