Plans have been submitted to build high rise flats on the former Dryden Mill site in Preston City Centre 🏗️
Developer Stoneygate Living Ltd proposes just over a quarter of the flats – around 129, will be aimed at the over 55s with a communal garden space in view, to socialise and interact, and promote health and wellbeing.
There are 118 parking spaces proposed in areas of open spaces which will serve as parking courts to provide central greenery spaces, aligned to the two blocks of the development, North and South. There will be 52 in the South court, and 53 in the North court each including six disabled parking spaces and 13 along Manchester Road.
On behalf of the applicant, agents Cassidy and Ashton Ltd, said: “The buildings presented will create a new statement of Preston’s future as a major urban centre, providing living accommodation for a mix of people, creating consumer demand for a range of amenities and city centre activities. “The construction of the new build development will bring employment and require the buying of local goods.”
