The proposal would see a sports hall replaced with eight two-bedroom terraced cottages while an adjoining gym would be converted into six one-bedroom holiday homes.The sports facilities date back to the time when the hall was a boarding school for girls, which closed in 1991., the applicants said the plan would, "improve the setting of nearby listed buildings" through the removal of the functional sports hall and would bring the brownfield site back into "a productive use".
The holiday homes would use the existing entrance onto Hall Park Road as well as an existing car parking area.
