“We don’t believe the high street is dying'
An independent frozen food store will be opening just outside of Stockport to give customers a chance to order award-winning and ethical meals to cook at home.
The brainchild of siblings Rosie Brown and Ed Perry, COOK was inspired by their mum, Anne, who would batch cook for the freezer when they were growing up. As per their ethos, everything is still hand-prepared from kitchen cupboard ingredients.It’s been a popular year for COOK, who have reported sales up by 16% in the last 11 months at £106m.
The Poynton store, on School Lane, will sell the full range of COOK’s meals and puddings, including its Chocolate roulade, Lemon Cheesecake, and Chocolate Mousse Torte. Last year, 24 of COOK’s dishes were awarded with a coveted golden star from the Great Taste Awards.
