Blockstream's Adam Back confirmed that Jade Wallet users receiving scam messages
Users of Jade Wallet, a popular non-custodial storage for Bitcoin and Liquid assets, are suffering from a dangerous scam. Jade's creator Blockstream has already stated that the recipients of strange letters should not open any links in them.Today, Oct. 21, 2023, the owners of Jade Wallet by the leading Bitcoin development studio Blockstream started receiving alert letters. Their authors alleged that the Jade hardware wallet was exploited and Blockstream issued an emergency firmware release.
A phishing email is being sent out impersonating Blockstream. As we investigate, please remember: DO NOT click on any suspicious emails claiming to be from Blockstream. Blockstream will NEVER ask for personal information via email. NEVER enter your seed phrase online or share it with anyone, even if they claim to be from the Blockstream support team
