Teddy Smith pleaded guilty to reckless manslaughter, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.

Teddy Smith, 42, will have to serve at least 17 years before he is eligible for parole, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said in announcing the sentence. Smith shot Nathan Adcock, 25, around 6:20 p.m. on May 1, 2020, on the 100 block of North First Street, prosecutors said. Adcock was brought to a local hospital where he died of his injuries.
Smith was charged with murder and weapons offenses in November 2020 following a months-long investigation. He pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter in March of this year. Authorities didn’t disclose a motive, but at the time of his arrest the prosecutor’s office described the shooting as “random violence.”
