Philly Democrats have ample time to protest GovRonDeSantis but none for their city
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis was honored last week at the historic Union League of Philadelphia, receiving the organization's gold medal of honor, an award first given to President Abraham Lincoln in 1863. The distinction is"conferred on men who were regarded as deserving well of their country." Other previous recipients include former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich , former Sen. Rick Santorum , and Supreme Court Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito.

Yet when it comes to protecting black people or trying to do something to eradicate actual threats plaguing black people in Philadelphia, these political charlatans have not done a thing in their entire lives.
Another civic leader, the Rev. Alyn E. Waller of Philadelphia's Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church, cited DeSantis's nixing a proposed Advanced Placement course on African American history. DeSantis, who supports the teaching of black history, canceled the course due to its promotion of radical left-wing ideology and indoctrination, but never mind the details.
The Philadelphia City Council introduced a resolution condemning the Union League's decision, claiming that DeSantis's term as governor has been marked by"cruelty, division, censorship, political gamesmanship, and the undermining of our democratic system." Philadelphia's NAACP also protested DeSantis receiving the award.
