Despite the loud voices claiming these shortages have resulted from poor spending decisions at city hall, there’s no evidence to support that, and every reason to believe that city hall bureaucrats’ explanation is, indeed, accurate.as other municipalities tackle the arduous task of adjusting to the new fiscal reality.in Saskatoon have been reduced through a variety of adjustments and deferred spending decisions to $26 million next year and $19 million the year after.
So, while you might not agree with all of their decisions, give council credit for sacrificing sweet summer days to address this crisis. Approval of the final budget awaits in late November, so there’s plenty of time to approach your councillor with suggestions.
