That strike by faculty and staff at Rutgers put the governor in a tough position; he poses as the friend of organized labor but he hasn't put his money where his mouth is

That’s not necessarily a blessing for the governor, he said.
Both noted that Murphy’s proposed budget has a $5 billion surplus thanks to all the COVID aid New Jersey has received. The governor has hinted he’ll use some of that swag to support a settlement of the strike.
