Up to 800,000 Californians could lose power this week

PG&E expects to restore service beginning Thursday, when winds are forecast to die down. But PG&E said it could take up to five days.two intentional shutoffs to prevent wildfires in September, but those affected fewer than 50,000 customers. Also that month, PG&E reached an $11 billion settlement with insurance companies, consisting of claims from the 2017 Northern California wildfire and the 2018 Camp Fire .
