A brave Maureen did the unthinkable back in 1977
Maureen Long is not a household name - but her story as a survivor of serial killer Peter Sutcliffe is being brought to a new audience.

Coincidentally, on the same night, Peter Sutcliffe was out drinking with his companions Ronnie and David Barker, following their usual routine in Bradford. Similar to the night of Jayne MacDonald's murder, Sutcliffe left the Barkers at Tanton Crescent in Clayton and drove off alone into the night.
She also mentioned living with an ex-boxer, whom she described as a "spoilsport." Upon reaching Rendle Street, she requested he stop a short distance away from her house. Seizing the opportunity, he struck her on the back of the head with a hammer. As she slumped to the ground, he dragged her onto a nearby waste ground, tore her dress, and proceeded with his signature stabbing method, suggestive of the Ripper's brutal attacks.
