'It is plain only an immediate custodial sentence can be justified'
A pervert who was snared by paedophile hunters thought he was asking a schoolgirl about her uniform before making lewd suggestions about being 'boyfriend and girlfriend.'
He suggested going to McDonalds in Leeds before moving the conversation to more sexual matters, Preston Crown Court heard.However Hodgson was actually speaking to a member of 'Predators Online' - a paedophile hunting group using decoys to catch people out to abuse youngsters. A member of the group contacted police to report they had performed a citizens arrest on the predator.
Hodgson, now 68, of Middle Hill, Barrow-in-Furness, pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted sexual communication with a child, and attempting to cause a child to engage in sexual activity.
