On the recent World Mental Health Day a campaigning Perthshire charity asked people to look after their mental health not just for one day – for every day.
“Things like getting out of the house and chatting to people, taking fresh air and exercise, taking time to relax and slow down. “Many people ending up with a serious mental health issue have said if only they had managed to get a good sleep early on in becoming unwell, things may not have deteriorated to such an extent, or if they’d had someone to help keep things in perspective when they struggled.”
Susan said: “NHS community mental health services have reduced in the last few years which means people can be on a waiting list for a while before they are seen. PLUS has been talking to groups, schools and colleges about protecting and improving mental health for many years now.
