Live Active Leisure, which runs the Glasgow Road facility, initially released a statement just before noon on Friday that it had to shut temporarily due to “unforeseen circumstances”.
However, it was confirmed later in the afternoon that the female customer had passed away “having taken unwell”.The death is being treated as “unexplained”. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.55am on Friday, 6 October, 2023, we were made aware of a person having taken unwell at a premises on Glasgow Road, Perth.“The death is being treated as unexplained but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson added: “We received a call today at 10.11 to attend an incident at Perth Leisure Pool.The sudden closure comes a day ahead of its mid-term school holiday programme.
