Manchester City will have to stick to their attacking game against Real Madrid, warned Pep Guardiola ahead of their quarter-final
Pep Guardiola said Manchester City have to try and hurt Real Madrid at the Bernabeu if they are to beat them again in the Champions League.
With a number of injuries and both teams set up slightly differently to last season, City's coach expects a more even contest across two legs than they managed to achieve last year. If they are to survive the Bernabeu and take something back to their own fortress, Guardiola does not think they will be able to do it by defending for 90 minutes.
"But everybody knows the strengths from transitions they have with Rodrygo, , Bellingham, Valverde, Vinicius. We cannot come here just to control the game, we have to come her to try to hurt them, to punish them, to let them know we are here to score the goals. Ancelotti had earlier pulled no punches in his assessment of the second leg last year, accusing his team of playing without courage or personality.
