A pensioner has been left fighting for his life after being struck by a car in Lanark on Friday evening.
The injured man was rushed Wishaw General Hospital and later transferred to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where staff described his condition as 'critical'. The driver of the car was uninjured. Officers closed the road for several hours to carry out their enquiries.Sergeant Scott McCreadie of Lockerbie Road Policing said: “We are appealing to the public for information as part of our ongoing enquiry to establish the full circumstances of what happened.
