Officers were called to the westbound carriageway between junctions 15 and 16 around 10.50pm on Saturday, November 5.
A pedestrian has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car while crossing the M8 motorway in Glasgow.
The road was closed while investigations were carried out by police, later reopening around 1.30am on Sunday, November 6. Sergeant Chris Hoggans of Police Scotland's Road Policing Unit said: “I would urge anyone who was on that stretch of the M8 around 10.50pm on Saturday and saw a man on the carriageway to get in touch with police. It’s important we find out exactly what happened.
