Another man was seriously injured in the smash in Oldham on Saturday afternoon
A man and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a pedestrian was killed and another seriously injured in a horror crash in Oldham. The 59-year-old man was knocked down while waiting to cross the street on Park Road in Oldham on Saturday afternoon.
It's believed one vehicle was travelling along Park Road, when it crashed with another car waiting to turn into the retail park. One of the vehicles then ploughed into the two pedestrians stood at the island.An air ambulance landed at the scene and Park Road was closed for several hours last night following the crash.
"So I stepped away then. I didn't want to get too close. It looked like they might be cutting someone out. I couldn't work out exactly what had happened but you could tell it was really serious. It was manic. It was really upsetting as well. They told it us it would be at least five hours before the road re-opens."
