The scene on junction 25 of the M5, near Taunton, after an air ambulance landed A pedestrian has been flown to hospital in a helicopter after they were struck by a lorry on a motorway in Somerset. The extent of the patient’s injuries following the incident, which took place on the M5 near Taunton just after midday today, are not currently known.
The road was reopened at around 2.30pm, but delays continue. Avon and Somerset Police confirmed one patient had been taken to hospital but did not give any more details about the incident. A spokesman said: ‘The M5 was closed at junction 25 following a collision involving a pedestrian and a lorry that happened at about noon today. ‘An air ambulance landed at the scene to take the injured pedestrian to hospital. ‘The road reopened at about 2.
