Reports claim the Hoops have 'indicated' to Benfica that they are ready to do business over a permanent deal.
Andy Walker reckons a £6millon fee to sign Paulo Bernardo is a 'bit steep' - as he made a case for looking closer to home.
Walker believes that, bar a purple patch at the midway point of the season, the loanee hasn't really had the big impact on games that you would expect for the fee being quoted. Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers both joined permanently for similar transfer fees after successful loan stints from Benfica and Tottenham - but the Go Radio pundit has been more coy over Bernardo as he used the Motherwell example from over the years as a route they could take once more.
"I think he has great potential. Celtic have a a long history of going and getting players like Stephen Pearson from Motherwell in midfield, David Turnbull and my good friend Phil O'Donnell.
