Paula Abdul looked somber on Friday as she was seen for the first time since filing a sexual assault lawsuit against American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe.
The former Idol judge, 61, who accused Lythgoe, 74, of victim-shaming her, visited her lawyer's office in Los Angeles amid her legal turmoil.
Abdul's lawyer Melissa Eubanks told TMZ that Lythgoe had been 'victim-shaming' the Grammy-winning singer, 61, in an effort to denigrate the sexually assault lawsuit she filed against him late last year. Abdul's legal team said that in an April, 10, 2014 text message, Lythgoe sent a message to Abdul about ongoing auditions in Las Vegas for So You Think You Can Dance.
He allegedly wrote to her, 'You love me like a relation I love you like a girlfriend. I could easily be your f****** cousin? Ha Ha.' Abdul's team said they have a text message from Lythgoe dated March 8, 2014 that read, 'When you get back to LA will you please make love to me! Slowly and lovingly!' 'It was clearly a difficult decision to make, but Ms. Abdul knows that she stands both in the shoes and on the shoulders of many other similarly situated survivors, and she is determined to see that justice is done,' Johnson said.
