“I’m in shock that Nick Saban has put up with this,' Paul Finebaum said. 'I know fans love to blame the coordinators and not Nick Saban, but ultimately, he’s in charge. It was his decision (to keep these coordinators).'

Finebaum, of course, reacting to Alabama’s 32-31, loss at LSU on Saturday in which Tigers quarterback Jayden Daniels ran for 25-yard touchdown in overtime and then found tight end Mason Taylor for a needed 2-point conversion.

The problems, he said, didn’t start this year. When contacted by AL.com on Monday for further context, Finebaum pointed a recent trend. “Ultimately, I think there is a connectivity issue with him and the team. It doesn’t seem like they are really listening as much. You can look for any reasons why or any explanation. I think one possible answer is Saban continues to struggle with the current world of college football.”

“You can look for a lot of blame, but I don’t like these coordinators,” he said. “I’m in shock that Nick Saban has put up with this. I know fans love to blame the coordinators and not Nick Saban, but ultimately, he’s in charge. It was his decision . Maybe the bigger problem some of these offensive play calls are stupefying.
