Parma City Schools' move to have armed staff members in school add an extra layer of security or raise more concerns?

“What we’re looking to do is to make sure our security team is armed,” Parma City Schools Board of Education President Steve Vaughn said.

The decision comes more than a year after a high-profile shooting at an Uvalde, Texas elementary school building. “So we will always have the final discretion on who we decide to go through that training and actually be armed.” “The sad part is that’s the position we’re at in 2023,” he said. “We have to look for every tool possible to harden our schools -- so to speak -- as well as we can.
