Liam Smith was found dead in Kilburn Drive, Shevington, on November 24 last year
The family of a Wigan dad who died after being shot and subjected to an acid attack have called on the public's help and say: "We cannot come to terms with this until justice is served."
Michael Hillier, from Sheffield, appeared at Manchester Magistrates' Court today to confirm his details. The 38-year-old, of Ecclesall Road, has been charged with Liam's murder.Detectives are continuing their investigation and are appealing for details about a car which was seen close to Mr Smith's home on two separate sets of registration plates.
Police are particularly keen to find out more about a dark grey Mitsubishi Shogun Elegance, which was manufactured in 2005 or 2006. Detective Chief Inspector Gina Brennand told reporters the car was seen with at least two different registration plates near to Mr Smith's home last November - EJ57 UPE on November 2 and R22 0RA on November 24, the day Mr Smith died.
