CPI Security, according to the Charlotte Observer, was one of the Panthers’ closest local partners for many years.CPI Security has been a long term partner but, upon reflection, we feel that it is right to end our relationship.— Carolina Panthers June 7, 2020 Per the Observer, Jorge Millares, the leader of Queen City Unity, sent out a mass email to local groups and organizations in the Charlotte area about the need for action following Floyd’s death in police custody late last month.
The Panthers, Hornets and Gamecocks, however, still cut ties with the firm. Former Panthers defensive end Julius Peppers called for the move on Twitter ahead of time, too.
