Officers were called to the Johnston Street area of the town at around 7.15pm on Sunday, October 22, following reports of an incident.

He has since been released on bail and will appear in court at a later date. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal. A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault on another man in Johnston Street, Paisley around 7.15pm on Sunday, 22 October. He was released on an undertaking to appear at court at a later date.
"The injured man was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley. A report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal."
