Padres, right-hander Joe Musgrove closing in on long-term deal
Joe Musgrove and the Padres are closing in on a deal that will tie the right-hander to his hometown team through at least 2027.
Musgrove, a Grossmont High graduate who in April 2021 threw the only no-hitter in franchise history, met with Padres Chairman Peter Seidler on Friday. Musgrove is scheduled to start Saturday against the Twins and is expected to undergo a physical Sunday or Monday.
