A former teacher’s aide and track coach at two central Pennsylvania school districts admitted in court to supplying minors with alcohol and taking pornographic photos and videos of them, prosecutors said. Peyton W. Harris, 20, of Mifflintown, was a teacher’s aide at Juniata High School and Newport High School, and the assistant manager for the track team at Juniata, when the crimes were committed during the 2021–22 school year, according to the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office.Harris pleaded guilty Wednesday to sexual abuse of children – child pornography, and furnishing alcohol to a minor. He has not yet been sentenced.
“Parents and students trusted Mr. Harris to be a positive influence and empower the young people in their community,” Acting Attorney General Michelle Henry said in a Wednesday news release. “He violated that trust when he exploited minors and put them at risk. Today’s guilty plea is a reminder that this office will continue to work to protect young people and hold accountable those who hurt them.
