Police say the two were in a parked car at a Chester County gas station when the shooting occurred.
A 4-year-old girl was killed Tuesday morning after a 2-year-old playing with a gun fired the weapon, according to police.
Chester police were called at 10:47 a.m. to the Eagle Save Mart for reports of a shooting victim who had been taken to a local hospital. Police said an investigation found that the 2-year-old boy was handling the gun inside of a vehicle parked at a gas pump when the gun discharged. The bullet hit the 4-year-old girl.
The adults at the gas station took the girl to the hospital but she did not survive her injuries. Police did not say how the adults at the scene were connected to the children. Police said the investigation is ongoing, led by Chester Det. Raheem Blanden. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Blanden at 610-447-8420.
