A huge new mural of P-22, a mountain lion who lives in Griffith Park and prowls urban backyards, urges us to respect Southern California’s big cats.
Artist Corie Mattie, whose street art name is LA Hope Dealer, began painting a mural on Monday, Oct. 3 of P-22, Los Angeles’s famous mountain lion who was photographed in front of the Hollywood Sign and hangs out in Hollywood and Griffith Park — just like a cool Angeleno.
The result has been a collaboration with the National Wildlife Federation called “Peace, Love and P-22.” The mural she is painting this week on the side of a fitness center called Hype Silverlake is part of the #SaveLACougars campaign.that keep him within the nine square miles of Griffith Park.
