His Twitter post indicated he would test the NBA Draft waters while maintaining his NCAA eligibility. Note the misspelling of what presumably meant to be "eligibility" near the end of Middleton's message. "Eliginility" could have been honest mistake or perhaps a reference to NIL. The commenters certainly didn't miss the typo.
Regardless, Middleton was one of the top high school basketball players in the country and chose Ohio State over Kansas, among other national powerhouses. In his freshman season that just concluded with OSU's NIT loss to Georgia, Middleton dealt with injuries, a suspension and a family emergency. His minutes and production went up following the firing of coach Chris Holtmann on Feb. 14, and there was hope around the OSU camp that new coach Jake Diebler would be able to keep Middleton in Columbus for his sophomore season.Stay Connected
