Oscars 2023 host confirmed with a returning star
The Academy's CEO Bill Kramer and President Janet Yang added:"Jimmy is the perfect host to help us recognize the incredible artists and films of our 95th Oscars. His love of movies, live TV expertise, and ability to connect with our global audiences will create an unforgettable experience for our millions of viewers worldwide.
"With Kimmel, Weiss and Kirshner’s fresh perspective and masterful guidance, the Oscars will celebrate its rich 95-year history, the collaborative nature of moviemaking, and our diverse, dynamic and deeply creative community of filmmakers.", which he executive produces as well as hosts, by three years. The show began in 2003, with this extension making him one of the longest running talk show hosts in American TV history.
It will be interesting to see if there will be a live delay imposed on next's ceremony, following the notorious momentwhich was broadcast and shared and discussed endlessly, overshadowing the rest of the ceremony. The Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 12 in Hollywood. It will air on ABC in the US, and usually airs on Sky and NOW in the UK.
