When you step inside Lucky Noodles for the first time, you’ll notice three things simultaneously: the plants that fill the small but welcoming space with verdant, cozy energy; the instantly sweet, friendly vibes coming from owner Ploy Limpapath, who will often greet you from behind the counter; and the intoxicating smell of fresh Thai street food.
Lucky Noodles specializes in just a few dishes — using recipes handed down by Limpapath’s grandmother — and does them incredibly well. If you order strategically, you’ll be able to taste herafter only a few visits. It will be hard to pick a favorite once you sample the indulgent crab cheese wontons , juicy pork dumplings and comforting takes on classic dishes such as pad Thai , Tom Yum soup and curry .
But the real fun lies in Limpapath’s “secret menu,” which isn’t listed on Lucky Noodles’ website but is easy to find if you dine in or order via third-party delivery services. It, too, is small but mighty with a life-saving “hangover” wonton soup drizzled with chili oil , incredible Thai-style fried chicken with a sweet and spicy papaya salad , and a melt-your-face OG red curry — only served spicy — filled with fresh Thai chili, kafir lime leaf and Thai basil.
