Abbott’s campaign has tried to use O’Rourke’s celebrity endorsements against him, saying it shows he’s more in line with out-of-state celebrities.
“Beto and his team of Hollywood celebrities and New York City elitists are out of touch with Texans,” Mark Miner, communications director for Texans for Greg Abbott.he was part of a get-out-the-vote virtual event O’Rourke set up to help get Texans to register to vote and to cast ballotsBoth O’Rourke and Abbott are trying to boost voter turnout in advance of Tuesday’s election. Already more than 5.5 million Texans have voted early. Texas is still 2.
Abbott was in Lubbock on Saturday trying to boost turnout and was heading for Dallas on Sunday. O’Rourke meanwhile was planning stops in San Antonio and Houston on Saturday and going to Denton on Sunday.
