FAIRBANKS, Alaska - A public meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 7 at the Hotel North Pole to discuss construction of a new overpass on the Richardson Highway at 12 Mile Village, milepost 351.The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities has identified this intersection as having a crash rate two and a half times higher than the statewide average for intersections of this type.
The proposed project is expected replace the existing intersection and replace it with an interchange to reduce turning related crashes. This project is being developed under the Highway Safety Improvement Program . To learn more about the project or to review the Final Interchange Access Justification Report visitDOT encourages residents to attend the open house from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Hotel North Pole is located at 449 Santa Claus Lane next to Safeway.
